File Prep
This is how we do it…
File Prep for Laser
Please submit your designs in vector format; preferably .EPS or .PDF files, at 100% scale (1:1 proportions). If the designs are not available in vector format, our design services may be required. If the designs are not available at full scale please clearly indicate their proportions. On the layout feel free to reference what areas are to be engraved, cut or scored. We typically use a color coding of BLACK fills for engraving, RED lines for cutting, and BLUE lines for scoring. Please give us as much specific information as possible so that we can efficiently get your project started. If you need any assistance with your file prep please let us know.
File Prep for CNC
Please submit your designs in vector format; preferably .EPS or .PDF files, at 100% scale (1:1 proportions). If the designs are not available in vector format, our design services will be required. If the designs are not available at full scale please clearly indicate their proportions. The machine is capable cutting, drilling, pocketing, carving, scoring, engraving, and much more. These processes are carried out by the size and shape of the tool being used, so keep that in mind with certain areas of your design. For example, an interior corner will be rounded by the shape of the bit. Feel free to inquire as to what tool geometry we would use on a particular material prior to preparing your files. On the layout feel free to reference what functions are to be completed either using notes or color coding. Please also specify depths. Please give us as much specific information as possible so that we can efficiently get your project started and completed. If you need any assistance with your file prep please let us know.
File Prep for Print
Please submit your designs in vector format; preferably .EPS or .PDF files, at 100% scale (1:1 proportions). If the designs are not available in vector format, our design services may be required. If the designs are not available at full scale please clearly indicate their proportions. When preparing artwork, consider it’s size and placement on the end product. Consider bleeds as well as “trapping” where colors overlay or meet each other but are not continuous across the design. Consider the way colors will appear on the substrate selected, and whether you may require a print base (white under) to achieve the desired color (For example, red ink on a black surface will appear as a barely visible, very dark brown/gray without a white base). To include white, primer or gloss in your designs, please prep these as spot colors, and group them accordingly and/or provide as separate layers. The machine uses it’s own proprietary color coding for these inks, so in your design submit them filled as whatever color you like, and indicate them accordingly (we will make the needed color fill modifications during setup). If you need any assistance with your file prep please let us know.
